Prof. Dr. Manuela Schwartz was appointed Rector of the University by Minister Prof. Dr. Armin Willingmann.
On 23 March 2022, the University's Academic Senate elected Prof. Dr Manuela Schwartz as the new Rector for a period of four years with a large majority. She is the second woman to head the university in its history after Prof. Dr. Anne Lequy - and currently the only female rector in Saxony-Anhalt again.
