To mark the commissioning of the "Stendal Hochschule" stop, a family festival will be held on the university campus from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 25.

After eleven months of construction, the new train station named Stendal Hochschule will be ceremoniously opened on Saturday, June 25, 2022, and has already been available for use for about two weeks.

On that day, the S-Bahn line S1 will run free of charge from Stendal main station to the new train station next to the campus every 30 minutes.

Stendal's mayor Klaus Schmotz will welcome guests at 11 a.m. on the Radio Brocken show truck. Then Saxony-Anhalt's Minister for Infrastructure and Digital Affairs Dr. Lydia Hüskens, Deutsche Bahn's Group Representative for Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia Martin Walden and University Rector Prof. Dr. Manuela Schwartz will speak.

Interested parties can learn more about the new stop and the university campus during free guided tours. NASA GmbH will present other rail projects in the Altmark region that will be realized within the next few years. Parallel to this, live music, BMX art and a clown round off the stage program.
