The upcoming Men's World Cup and the past Women's European Championship raise an exciting question, among others: How can we make football accessible to everyone on the pitch and in the stands?
Under the heading "Football as a Human Right", the Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences is organising a lecture series together with the Fan Project Magdeburg that is dedicated to this question. Together with guests from sport, science, journalism, society and politics, topics from the fields of social work and journalism will be dealt with in ten events. Lectures and discussions will deal with fan rights, paywalls and accessibility as well as youth performance centres and the question of whether football is really a sport for all and by all. Guests include fan advocate Linda Röttig (at the kick-off), 11FREUNDE editor-in-chief Philipp Köster, sports scientist Prof. Dr. Arne Güllich, Thomas Haufe from the podcast "Nur der FCM!", Daniela Wurbs from the counselling centre kickIn!, Black Eagles producer Leopold Hoesch and many more. Many of the events can be followed live via online stream.
Leading the lecture series "Football as a Human Right" are Stefan Roggenthin from the Fan Project Magdeburg, Prof. Dr. Christoph Damm (Social Work) and Dr. Jonas Schützeneder (Journalism) from the Department of Social Work, Health and Media, as well as Norbert Doktor, Press Officer of the University.
Note on the online stream
The stream will be activated shortly before the event begins and will then be open to the public. Registration is therefore not required. Depending on the user's browser version, the sound may have to be activated in the streaming player.
