In the winter semester 2023/2024, the new cooperative degree programme "AI Engineering" will start at the university.

As part of a cooperation between Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg, Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, Harz University of Applied Sciences, Merseburg University of Applied Sciences and Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences, the bachelor's degree programme "AI Engineering" will start in the coming winter semester, offering future students a perspective on the digitalised job market of the future.

The programme begins at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, where the basics are taught for four semesters. From the fifth semester onwards, students transfer to one of the cooperating universities, depending on the chosen specialisation. At the Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences, for example, the specialisation "Biomechanics and Smart Health Technologies" can be chosen.

The project is jointly funded by the federal government and the state of Saxony-Anhalt as part of the BMBF's AI in Higher Education initiative.
