Magdeburg University Library is starting the new year with a varied program and cordially invites interested parties to take part in exciting events. From artistic expression against right-wing extremism to political discussions and support for academic writing - there is something for everyone.

Art against the right - exhibition opening on January 9

After a great public success in Schönebeck, we are pleased to be able to show the “Art against the right” exhibition with works by artists from Magdeburg and Schönebeck in our library.

Panel discussion on the outcome of the US presidential election on January 14

Donald Trump has done it: the new old president is back at the helm of the USA. He is ideally placed to make lasting changes to the politics of the most powerful country in the world in line with his wishes. But with what consequences for democracy and what impact on Europe? Claudia Nothelle (Professor of Television Journalism), Matthias Quent (Professor of Sociology) and the American and university lecturer Leigh Love will discuss this question on January 14 together with television journalist Elmar Theveßen, head of the ZDF studio in Washington. Power writing night on January 16

For students and anyone who is interested in academic writing, literature research and Citavi, or who is thinking about doing a doctorate or publishing something open access, we are once again offering an event in January 2025. This time exclusively via Zoom and together with Anhalt University of Applied Sciences. Please also inform your students!
