An evening dedicated to the issues of tomorrow: at the Tomorrow Labs science festival, Magdeburg’s Wissenschaftshafen will be transformed into a laboratory of the future on 6 June 2026. From 4 pm to 10 pm, universities, research institutions and companies will offer insights into science and innovation: free of charge, interactive and entertaining.
Across four themed areas, known as ‘Labs’, the Tomorrow Labs bring research and future-oriented questions to life:
• At the Earth Lab, located at and within IFAK – the Institute for Automation and Communication –
the focus is on environmental and sustainability issues. Among other things, this involves
smart solutions for water management and the potential of algae.
• The Health Lab on the STIMULATE research campus offers insights into
health technologies and medical research: from hands-on activities with
exoskeletons to virtual reality applications in the operating theatre.
• In the Technology Lab at and within Fraunhofer IFF, everything revolves around the technologies
of tomorrow: smart factory systems, innovative robotics and connected AI
applications in road traffic demonstrate how technological innovations can
change our lives.
• The Society Lab, located by the harbour basin and at the Centre for Continuing Education at Otto von Guericke University, is dedicated to future-oriented topics in the social, economic and humanities fields. The focus is on issues of social diversity, the working world of tomorrow and topics such as loneliness and participation.
Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences is not only strongly represented within the four labs, but also has its own stand. With its container and the IGEL-Mobil, it is impossible to miss.

drinks. Various choirs and the DJ collectives HEIKEL Music and GRN.HRZ will provide the
perfect soundtrack and invite you to enjoy a relaxed summer evening.
