The American chip manufacturer Intel announced on Monday the construction of two state-of-the-art production facilities in Magdeburg.

For 17 billion euros, chip giant Intel is building two modern manufacturing plants for semiconductors in Magdeburg in the coming years. The planning phase has already begun. Construction is expected to start in the first half of 2023. For the Magdeburg location, Intel's subsidiary is a strong economic stimulus that will create up to 3,000 jobs in the high-tech sector in the long term. Minister President Rainer Haseloff speaks of the largest investment in the history of the federal state and warmly welcomes Intel. The Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences, with its many technical courses, also offers itself as a cooperation partner.
