Alumni Stories: A talent for leadership and teaching
Noah Baalke realised early on during his training as a nursery teacher that he had a flair for and an interest in management and organisational roles. He subsequently studied Early Years Education at Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences, where he felt particularly at home thanks to the friendly, family-like atmosphere on campus. After graduating, he surprisingly took on a management role at a nursery straight away!

Alumni Stories: Den Interessen folgen und am Ball bleiben
Cornelia Reinhold has remained loyal to the university. In 2008, she completed a Bachelor’s degree in “Health Promotion and Management” and, in 2011, a Master’s degree in “Social and Health Journalism” at the Magdeburg campus. Since 2018, she has been the programme coordinator for the part-time distance-learning course “Healthcare Management”. Cornelia also works as a lecturer on a part-time basis.

Alumni Stories: Design that makes an impact: How practical projects pave the way to success
From student project to award: Adrian Wiepcke studied for a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design and subsequently a Master’s degree in Engineering Design at Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences. Together with his fellow students, he then went on to set up his own company. The project for a wireless 3D measurement system has already earned him multiple nominations and a Golden Award at the Wonder Global Awards for product design.

Time for girl power! Anja Müller, Equality Officer and laboratory engineer in the Department of Engineering and Industrial Design at Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences, demonstrates how these issues are put into practice in everyday life. She graduated with a degree in Water Management as a graduate engineer in 2007 from Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences and has since enjoyed a varied career.

Alumni Stories: Completely satisfied: first as a student, then as a staff member
Daniel Menschulin is a research assistant at Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences and works on the “SynerKI” project. The aim of the project is to develop digital solutions based on artificial intelligence (AI). The focus is on holistic process optimisation within businesses, public administration and institutions in the Altmark region. The varied tasks, including attending international conferences such as those in South Africa, make this role particularly exciting. Prior to this, he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 2022 and his Master’s degree in Risk Management in 2024 at Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences.

Alumni Stories: A free spirit with a thirst for knowledge
Marcel Hallmann is a research assistant at the Institute of Electrical Engineering at Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences. In addition to his teaching duties, he focuses on artificial intelligence in energy technology. His research explores alternative methods of energy storage and how these can help ensure a stable and sustainable electricity grid in the future. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Information Technology at Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences in 2015.

Alumni Stories: Human-Technology Interaction: a unique degree programme
Whilst others start university straight after leaving school, Paul’s path took him from secondary school to a lower secondary school leaving certificate with a recommendation for grammar school, then into vocational training, and finally, via his degree in Human-Technology Interaction at Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences, to his current job with the fire service. He currently works there as a research project assistant. The 29-year-old Berliner has told us about his journey and offers insights into his studies and his current professional life.
