Fabina Otten wins New Talents Award 2025 by the VDID

Fabian Otten studies engineering design at Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences and was awarded the New Talents Award 2025 by the Association of German Industrial Designers for his SteadyGo project. New Chancellor in office since 1 October

Nora Küster-Dammaschke is the new Chancellor of Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences. She took up her post on campus on 1 October 2025. She was elected by a large majority by the Senate on 10 July 2024.  Read more...

New Member of the Board of Trustees at Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences

We are delighted to welcome Professor Achim Förster as a new member of the Board of Trustees at Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences. Professor Förster is Vice President for Internationalisation and Teaching at the Technical University of Würzburg-Schweinfurt and brings with him in-depth expertise in media law, data protection and internationalisation. First Doctorate in Stendal sucessfull

A historic moment for Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences: Niels Schmidtke is the first doctoral student to successfully defend his thesis at the Stendal campus. Saxony-Anhalt's universities of applied sciences have had the right to award doctorates since 2021. In his dissertation entitled ‘Development of an integration model for the design of resilient value creation systems in the context of digital transformation’, Schmidtke researched how companies can be made more future-proof with the help of resilience strategies and generative artificial intelligence.  Read more...

Lecture series in the summer semester 2025: ‘The attack on the Magdeburg Christmas market and its consequences’

From 22 April 2025 onwards, the Institute for Democratic Culture at Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences is organising a lecture series called ‘The attack on the Magdeburg Christmas market and its consequences’ with three main topics: (a) the crime and background, (b) mediatisation and responsibility and (c) consequences and coping.
