On 13 May, the four universities of applied sciences in Saxony-Anhalt will be marking European Doctoral Day, which is also being celebrated at 172 locations across Europe. This event provides doctoral students with a platform to share experiences, projects and future prospects in applied research. From student project to award: Adrian Wiepcke studied for a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design and subsequently a Master’s degree in Engineering Design at Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences. Together with his fellow students, he then went on to set up his own company. The project for a wireless 3D measurement system has already earned him multiple nominations and a Golden Award at the Wonder Global Awards for product design.  Read more...

Erik Janousch is the coordinator of ViSUS PRO. The aim of the project is to integrate a modern teaching and learning environment with an XR laboratory into the curriculum. Students acquire practical knowledge by being actively involved in the project from the outset and working with new technologies such as virtual and augmented reality. Alumni Stories: Completely satisfied: first as a student, then as a staff member

Daniel Menschulin is a research assistant at Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences and works on the “SynerKI” project. The aim of the project is to develop digital solutions based on artificial intelligence (AI). The focus is on holistic process optimisation within businesses, public administration and institutions in the Altmark region. The varied tasks, including attending international conferences such as those in South Africa, make this role particularly exciting. Prior to this, he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 2022 and his Master’s degree in Risk Management in 2024 at Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences.  Read more...

Marcel Hallmann is a research assistant at the Institute of Electrical Engineering at Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences. In addition to his teaching duties, he focuses on artificial intelligence in energy technology. His research explores alternative methods of energy storage and how these can help ensure a stable and sustainable electricity grid in the future.
