Research on Campus: AI-Drone Water and Enviornment (KiD)

The aim of the ‘KiD’ research project is to further develop autonomous detecting AI drone technology in the water and environmental sector. For this purpose, an AI-learning tool for imaging data structures and laser scanning data structures will be developed and subsequently applied to the photogrammetric image processes in measuring drones, which will ultimately enable AI-based identification of damage to dikes, hydraulic structures and vegetation detection in rivers.  Read more...

With the motto ‘Meeting Point for Students and Practice’, the 22nd Company Contact Fair of the Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences will take place on 21 May 2025 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Herrenkrug campus. Employers can use the opportunity to approach students at their place of study and get them interested. Students from all disciplines are invited to talk to professionals from the companies and find out about their options and opportunities on the labour market. Teaching Prize for Prof. Dr. Sebastian von Enzberg

Prof. Dr. Sebastian von Enzberg was awarded the Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences Teaching Prize on 7 May 2025. He has been Professor of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Engineering at the Institute of Electrical Engineering since 2023. He pays particular attention to the topic of AI justice, which he addresses in his lecture ‘AI for all’. This course, which is primarily for social work students at the Department of Social Work, Health and Media, provides practice-oriented insights into artificial intelligence.  Read more...

The aim of the ‘ELSA LogiCare’ research project is to investigate the effectiveness of passive exoskeletons in reducing strain-associated physical complaints and any resulting days of absence for employees in the logistics and care sectors. Research on Campus: KlimaEcho – Elbe Dome for Mixed-Reality in Research and Science

The aim of the ‘KlimaEcho’ research project is to promote the discussion of climate change using information design and interaction design in virtual reality (VR) experiences. In addition to the question of which data, e.g. from the German Polarstern Expedition 2023, is particularly suitable for implementation, research is to be carried out into how a VR experience must be designed in order to achieve the desired effect.  Read more...
